Summary

MIT Horizon seeks experts in various aspects of Nuclear Energy to help support the development of educational content for working professionals. MIT Horizon reaches an educational audience of more than 1 million professionals at F500 companies and government organizations.

The ideal candidate should have deep, specific knowledge in the modern capabilities of nuclear energy, both fission and fusion; the latest developments in small modular reactors and nuclear fusion; efforts to restart decommissioned nuclear power plants; debate over nuclear power’s role in addressing AI’s growing energy demands; the climate, safety, and policy implications of nuclear energy; and/or other relevant areas of nuclear energy, both practical and philosophical.

Responsibilities

Work with MIT Horizon researchers, writers, and editors to:

  • Plan a scope of curriculum for educating modern professionals.
  • Draft notes, and recommend sources, on given Nuclear Energy topics.
  • Answer questions and provide expertise via phone, email, remote meetings, and if possible in-person meetings.
  • Review and fact-check drafts of articles for accuracy and completeness.
  • Connect educators to other experts in the Nuclear Energy community.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in the study or industry of Nuclear Energy.
  • 2–10 hours a week for three months.
  • This is a remote contract position.
